NDAD is proud to announce a new round of Gibbens Memorial Grant awards supporting a wide range of community-driven initiatives that expand accessibility, inclusion and quality of life across North Dakota and the surrounding region. In total, NDAD awarded $60,000 to 11 organizations across North Dakota with this grant.
From sensory-friendly environments and adaptive programming to independent living skills, these projects reflect NDAD's continued commitment to removing barriers and creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities.
"Each of these organizations is making a meaningful impact in the lives of North Dakotans," said DeAnn Burckhard, NDAD Marketing Director. "Whether they're creating more inclusive spaces, supporting independence, expanding educational opportunities, or helping individuals overcome barriers, these projects reflect the spirit of the Gibbens Memorial Grant and the legacy of helping others live fuller, more connected lives."
Expanding Access, Inclusion, and Community Participation
From sensory-friendly accommodations to supportive resources for individuals facing complex health challenges, these organizations are helping more North Dakotans engage fully in school, community activities, and everyday life.
Strengthening Independence, Life Skills, and Daily Living
Grant funding is helping individuals develop practical life skills, explore creative outlets, and gain experiences that encourage greater independence and community involvement.
Creating Opportunities for Learning, Growth, and Student Success
Access to supportive learning environments can have a lasting impact on a student's future. By helping students access educational enrichment opportunities and resources that support focus, self-regulation, and participation, these projects are creating pathways for lifelong success.
Supporting Families Through Health Challenges and Medical Journeys
Serious medical conditions affect entire families. Funding helps ease financial and emotional burdens, allowing families to focus on treatment, recovery, and supporting their loved ones through complex health journeys.
Promoting Healing, Resilience, and Emotional Well-Being
Whether supporting foster children, youth impacted by trauma, or families navigating difficult circumstances, these organizations are creating supportive environments that foster resilience, growth, and emotional well-being.
Continuing a Legacy of Impact
NDAD's Gibbens Memorial grant supports projects that enhance health, well-being and quality of life for individuals in at-risk populations. Established in 2015 in honor of NDAD founders, Faye and Ron Gibbens, the grant carries forward their legacy of creating meaningful opportunities and improving lives across North Dakota.
