Our BISMARCK office will temporarily operate with shortened hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until normal hours resume.

NDAD provides services in several ways.

Financial Assistance

Funds generated by NDAD may pay for a variety of support. Those who qualify based on a set of guidelines may receive funds for:
  • Prescription medications 
  • Medical equipment and supplies
  • Out-of-town medical travel expenses
  • Home modification
  • Vehicle accessibility
  • In-town accessible transportation fees
  • Adaptive recreational activities (Restrictions apply, i.e., not including gym/health club memberships, walking tracks, personal exercise equipment etc.)

Equipment Loans

Through NDAD’s Healthcare Equipment Loan Program (HELP), individuals may borrow durable medical equipment for up to three months free of charge. There is no application process or financial qualification. NDAD’s inventory includes bed rails, canes, walkers and rollators, manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and scooters, knee walkers, shower chairs, transfer benches, toilet seat risers and more. Learn more about the medical equipment available >>

Information, Referrals and Advocacy  

One of NDAD’s goals is to assist people in receiving help through other agencies whenever possible. Often, those who need assistance are not aware of available services or don’t know how to gain access.  NDAD’s client representatives make every effort to ensure they receive services to which they are entitled from the appropriate agency.  Learn how >>
