Kathy Finds Strength and Security Through NDAD

Kathy Carter grew up in Alaska and moved to Watford City, North Dakota, in October 2024 to be closer to family after her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Since moving to North Dakota, her mobility has changed from walking independently to using a walker and now a wheelchair.
After learning about NDAD through a local community action organization, Kathy reached out for assistance with transportation and medication costs. With limited transportation options in her area, NDAD helped provide rides, gas cards and vouchers, along with assistance with prescription costs.
When asked how NDAD has made a difference in her life, Kathy shared, “I’m mentally stable because NDAD helps with finances and rides. Those are the two things you’ve given me: mental strength and monetary strength.”
Kathy encourages others who may need assistance to contact NDAD, even if they aren’t sure what resources are available. “One way or another, you will be able to find help if you get a hold of NDAD. They’re always nice and helpful, can guarantee that.”
