“I can’t lift my arm very high. I’m really looking forward to having shoulder surgery so I can recover and be more mobile,” says Brenda Klein of Dickinson, ND. Brenda learned about NDAD and Chantel at the Dickinson office through a friend. Knowing her surgery was coming up, she reached out for help.

“I went in to see Chantel, and she set me up with a bed rail,” Brenda shares. “Now I use it to help me sit up and get out of bed.” After her surgery, Brenda plans to contact NDAD again if she needs additional equipment.

“Borrowing the equipment makes a big difference. I knew I wouldn’t need it for long, so I didn’t want to buy one. And the fact that it’s free makes it even better!” NDAD is also helping Brenda with costs related to medical supplies and prescriptions.

NDAD’s Healthcare Equipment Loan Program (HELP) allows North Dakotans to borrow durable medical equipment for up to three months at no cost. No application or financial qualification is required.
