Pembina County Memorial Hospital Foundation Expands Resident Experiences with Interactive Technology
NDAD is proud to support the Pembina County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) Foundation with a $5,000 Gibbens Memorial Grant to enhance quality of life for nursing home residents through innovative technology. The funding will support the purchase of a Lucynt Interactive Table, offering engaging, therapeutic activities designed for individuals of all abilities.
Addressing Isolation in Rural Communities
Many residents in rural nursing homes face challenges such as social isolation, cognitive decline, and limited access to stimulating activities—often due to geographic and resource constraints. The Lucynt Interactive Table helps bridge that gap by bringing engaging experiences directly to residents in a way that is both accessible and inclusive.
This state-of-the-art, touch-enabled table offers a wide variety of applications, including games, music, art, reminiscence activities, and cognitive exercises. Its intuitive design makes it easy to use for individuals with limited mobility, visual impairments, or dementia, and it supports both individual engagement and group interaction.
Technology That Builds Connection
More than just a piece of equipment, the table creates meaningful opportunities for connection—encouraging participation, sparking memories, and fostering social interaction among residents, families, and staff. “By funding this project, NDAD is helping bring cutting-edge, therapeutic technology to a rural population that often has limited access to such resources – supporting both emotional well-being and cognitive health,” shares Rebekah Coffield, PCMH Foundation Director.
“Access to innovative technology shouldn’t be limited by geography,” said DeAnn Burckhard, NDAD Marketing Director. “Investing in tools like the Lucynt Interactive Table ensures individuals in rural communities have the same opportunities for connection, engagement, and quality of life as those in more urban areas.”
Continuing a Legacy of Impact
NDAD’s Gibbens Memorial Grant supports projects that enhance health, well-being, and quality of life for individuals in at-risk populations. Established in 2015 in honor of NDAD founders Faye and Ron Gibbens, the grant carries forward their legacy of creating meaningful opportunities and improving lives across North Dakota.
