June 16 date of next Escape to the Lake
Published: Thursday, April 26, 2018
Children and adults with physical disabilities will take to waterskiing once again June 16 at the 24th annual Escape to the Lake, organized by NDAD.
The adaptive water recreation event provides adults and children with physical disabilities the opportunity to water ski, take a pontoon ride and enjoy a recreational summer day on a North Dakota lake.
Nelson Lake, near Center in Oliver County, once again is the Escape site, with activities centered at the Nelson Lake Recreation Area.
The 2017 Escape was canceled because of inclement weather on the morning of the event.
Along with NDAD, the primary on-site support for this year's Escape again will come from Sporting Chance North Dakota, Texas Adaptive Aquatics and the Aberdeen (S.D.) Aqua Addicts, who also will provide a performance ski show for participants, their families, friends and caregivers.
