NDAD is now accepting applications for its Adaptive Recreation Grant, a funding opportunity designed to help organizations or community groups expand or enhance recreational programs for North Dakotans with health challenges.

The grant supports adaptive sports, recreation equipment, accessible program development and inclusive activities that help people with health challenges stay active, engaged and connected with their communities.

“NDAD has long believed that recreation should be accessible to everyone, and that includes the chance to participate fully in sports, outdoor activities and community events,” said DeAnn Burckhard, NDAD Marketing Director. “This grant is an opportunity for organizations across North Dakota to dream bigger – to break barriers, spark inclusion, and create spaces where people of all abilities can thrive."

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, schools, community groups and other entities that provide recreational programming within North Dakota. Funding may be used for adaptive equipment, program expansion, training or accessibility improvements that support meaningful participation for individuals with health challenges.

Applications are open now, with details and application materials available at ndad.org/grants. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. CST on March 31, 2026.

For questions or assistance with the application process, contact NDAD’s Chief Program Officer, Leslie Stastny at lstastny@ndad.org or 701-775-5577.
