Moriah "Mo" Heffron Benefit - Feb. 15, 2023

Event: Moriah "Mo" Heffron Benefit (HELD Feb. 15)
Location: Southgate Casino, Bar & Grill, Grand Forks

A benefit will be held Wed., Feb. 15, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Grand Forks' Southgate Casino, Bar & Grill for Moriah "Mo" Heffron, an employee of "The Gate" who was seriously hurt in an early January accident and is expected to miss at least three months of work.

The free-will donation benefit will feature a baked potato bar, meatballs and little smokies wieners, sloppy joes from Hugo's, plus raffle baskets and a live DJ from Wheelz. All proceeds will be used to help Mo with medical and general expenses.

Southgate is at 2525 S. Washington St.

 

Moriah has been a reliable employee of Southgate since 2015. A mother of two sons - Chris, 22, and Nick, 20 - and a long-time Grand Forks resident, Mo has devoted her time to her family and community.

On Jan. 11, Mo suffered a serious accident while on her way to the vet. Oliver, the family's new great Pyrenees puppy, suddenly and harshly pulled on his leash, causing Moriah to slip and fall hard. The impact fractured her right hip, broke the neck of her femur in two places, and fractured the humerus in her right upper arm.

Mo has been unable to work since the accident and has incurred many medical bills and lost wages. Although she has the support of her long-time boyfriend, Jake, doctors anticipate that, pending her recovery, Mo's return to work will occur no sooner than mid-April. Given the predicted recovery time of about 3 1/2 months, she can really use the financial help. Please consider donating help Moriah..
