Anne Compton

Take part in The Compy Cup Extreme Putting Challenge, a fundraiser for Anne Compton, who has Parkinson's disease. It coincides with a retirement social for Anne's husband, Jeff, who's retiring after 28 years with Grand Forks Public Schools.

The events are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at King's Walk Golf Course in south Grand Forks.

Play 18 holes of "Extreme Mini Golf" on the King's Walk Putting Green for a great cause. Entry for each 2-person team is $50 per team. Just show up the day of the event to register and play! There will be lots of prizes, plus free hot dogs and a cash bar. 

All funds raised in this NDAD-sponsored event will be used for Anne's medical and in-home care expenses.

An edited excerpt from the fundraiser email:
"Some years ago, Anne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.  During the time since her diagnosis, Jeff and Anne have worked as a team to minimize the impacts to their lives.  It has been an uphill battle.  Jeff continued to work with the Grand Forks Public Schools all while caring for Anne and this summer will retire after 28 years. 
 
Anne’s disease has progressed to the point where round-the-clock care is required.  Jeff is closely involved with her physical therapy and works with her daily.  Unfortunately, this leaves little time for daily chores and housework, not to mention time for his own health.  In addition, medical costs continue to add to the burden.
 
Many of Jeff and Anne’s friends have asked the question, “How can we help?” The flyer explains the NDAD fundraiser at King’s Walk on June 15^th.  We hope to see you there.

For almost all their careers in education, the Comptons have dedicated their lives to the youth of this community - Jeff as a football and golf coach at various levels, Anne as an educator and administrator.  This is an opportunity to give back to these two special people during a time when they need it most.
